New to this league so thought I'd guage the opinion on the forthcoming campaign...

Who will do well?

Who won't?

Who thinks they'll do well, but won't?

How will your lads do?

Looking forward to visiting on the opening day, I hear you are one of the dark horses for promotion this season from fans at other clubs?

Maybe about the best time to play us at the start of the season, as once settled I'd hope us to go on a decent run !

Looking at some of your squad I'd expect you to challenge, certainly got you down as a top six side- the others I expect to do well, Barwell (spending bucketloads), Newcastle Town (likewise, allegedly), Glapwell (more kerching).

Leek, Belper and Rushall as dark horses, but then I know nowt about this league.

How old is Alistair Asher now? One of the best full backs in the Blue Square North not so long back.

Ash is 30ish, now one of the best defenders in the league !! (still)

Defensively we are one of the best in the league, midfield I'm not convinced, forward line still lacking on key player I think

Who will do well? - Us

Who won't? - Spalding will continue to hover over the UCL trapdoor. Belper won't do as well as recent seasons.

Who thinks they'll do well, but won't? - Kidsgrove. Glapwell would have to have some fans to put forward an opinion, so they are ruled out of this question.

How will your lads do? - We'll finish 2nd.

Looking forward to visiting on the opening day, I hear you are one of the dark horses for promotion this season from fans at other clubs? - That's a statement, not a question.

Before I joined up with Romulus I was involved at Redditch United- went home and away week in week out, Asher always stood out especially for Hucknall Town and I remember Gary Suchawotsit being one of the most underrated players in the Reds Midland Division Championship side.

I'm hoping I'll make the opening game of the season (90% sure I will) as Grantham is one ground I never got to visit despite Redditch playing them several times during my years there.

So is the general concensus that you will p*ss this tinpot league? Or are you all a little more understated than that?

Most of us have seen far too many seasons come & go to ever think it will be easy. All we have at the moment is a good foundation to build on.

Having said that, I will be disappointed if we are not (at least) in the play-offs come Easter

That's how I see it, too many clubs think that they'll p*ss this tinpot league and get caught out.

We need to be continually building which I think we are trying to do.

I want to be right up there at the end of the season.

Not sure if we're dark horses. I think things might be falling into place, especially building on the last two months of last season. Hopefully a good start, and we can build up some momentum both on and off the pitch.
