Another pre-season defeat

Postby sut on Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:16 pm

Yes I know pre-season doesn't matter, but seriously, 1 goal in three games, we can do better than that ?

Defensively we look ok, but going forward we really aren't creating much. Will still have a few games to get this right, but it seems we have forgotten how to score goals at the minute.

To be fair though, we ALWAYS lose to Dunkirk, good to see a few former Gingerbreads today, Dave Robinson, Mark Harbottle, Tim Wilkes all part of the Dunkirk setup

As I said in the week, if we win on the 21st, pre-season won't matter a bit.

Also, best not to peak too early, let's save the goals until August!

my first game so difficult to judge other to comment that we did not get the ball and play around enough- too much long ball. The managers were clearly still looking to get match practice and testing out newcomers- may have been diferent if Scrabble,Robbo,Gio and matt G had started. Still lacking sharpness but early days yet. Seems a very long run up as its nigh on a month to kick off!

Yarmouth will be a challenge on Saturday and we will need to step it up a notch.

Finally as we may play dunkirk in the Cup maybe best we did not show our true colours

Having seen the picture in question, it is him,

However, I almost didn't recognise him without his 'Magic Hat'

Sorry Sut, but totally disagree with your opening comments to your post as would Wayne and Jimmy I'm sure.
Irrespective of the fact these are pre-season fixtures winning football matches breeds confidence within the
squad and this is taken into the league fixtures when the buisness end begins. We all know that the league is
not won in August but a good confident start to the season would simply bolster and gel a playing squad and
you never know you just might get a few more coming in through the gate
